Oliver Sherwood's popular chaser Eric's Charm is being remembered in a race at Sandown on Friday.
The Eric's Charm Handicap Chase over three miles is being staged in honour of the gelding, who was fatally injured in a fall at Newbury last March.
Eric's Charm was a standing dish at Sandown, winning three staying handicap chases and running there a total 10 times.
Sherwood said: "It is an honour to have a race named after Eric's Charm, he was a very special horse and loved Sandown Park. He really was as tough a horse as I have trained."
Sandown's director of racing Andrew Cooper said: "Eric's Charm became a real favourite with our racegoers and clearly excelled here. It is a pleasure to name a race after him."
