Waterway Run continued on the upward curve with a game win in the Sakhee Oh So Sharp Stakes at Newmarket.
The Ralph Beckett-trained filly came out on top in a good tussle with long-time leader Light Up My Life.
Those two had the race between them from the dip and Jim Crowley's mount, the 5-2 favourite, prevailed by half a length to take her record to three wins from four starts. Annie's Fortune was another three lengths back in third, with Power Of Light fourth.
Beckett said: "She'll go straight for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies' Turf because she was nominated for it as a foal. She is a tough filly and the ground was a shade on the soft side for her as she was just 'pitching' a bit early on.
"She'll get better ground out there (Santa Anita) and the travelling won't bother her."
Crowley said: "She's not that big, but she's got a great attitude. She was quite impressive at York when she won and she's done it well today.
"We've gone a nice gallop and when I kicked her into the dip she found plenty. Yesterday there was a tailwind behind us, but today it is a crosswind. It's beautiful ground, though."
