Connections of Vow will be hoping Richard Hughes can maintain his winning momentum as he partners the filly for the first time at Ascot on Saturday.
The William Haggas-trained three-year-old won her first two outings this term, including the Oaks Trial at Lingfield in May, and duly went on to Epsom where she finished a creditable fourth behind Was, before paying the price for her busy early season with a lacklustre run at Royal Ascot.
Given a break after that run, Vow returned to action with a moderate sixth in a Listed event over 10 furlongs at Newmarket but steps back up to 12 furlongs in the Group Two Qipco Champion Fillies' And Mares' Stakes.
"Richard Hughes is booked to ride. He is obviously in electric form at the moment," said Harry Herbert, racing manager for owners Highclere Thoroughbred Racing.
"She's in good form. She is better on good ground or at least ground faster than she will encounter on Saturday, but William was keen to run.
"She was given plenty of time after her Royal Ascot run and she was probably just a bit ring rusty when she ran at Newmarket last time. She also looked like she needed further as she was caught out before really staying on up the hill at the finish."
While Herbert is anticipating a bold show on Saturday, he also looking forward to campaigning the Motivator filly as a four-year-old.
He added: "I think she's a horse we will keep for next year and the type to go on and win a Group race.
"We're looking forward to her running and she will then have five or six months to recover before she returns."
