Passports For Horses

To help owners of horses, ponies and donkeys meet European Commission legislation, which required all equidae to have obtained a passport by 28th February 2005, Weatherbys offers an ID passport service.

Please Note: Under the Horse Passport Regulations 2009 (England), applications for equine passports can only be accepted for microchipped animals from 1st July 2009.

The Weatherbys ID Passport Service produces passports for horses of unknown pedigree. The cost of a passport is £21.50 (excluding the cost of a microchip) and discounts are available for multiple applications. Weatherbys ID Passports can also update ownership and add in the medication pages to British Horse Database passports. These are blue passports with the British Horse Database logo displayed on the front cover.

Weatherbys is recognised by DEFRA as an official horse Passport Issuing Organisation (PIO). For a list of frequently asked questions and their associated answers please click on FAQs (PDF).
