Race Verdict

CARRIETAU's trailblazing tactics could pay off today. He already boosts a couple of course wins and a fine placed effort at Newcastle 15 days ago suggests that he is returning to form. Signalman faces a much easier assignment than when last of four in novice company at Carlisle last time and warrants plenty of respect with cheekpieces back on (used when runner-up at Hexham two starts ago), while Soul Magic certainly isn't out of it off a handy weight.
