Race Verdict
A tremendous renewal and so good to see the reappearance of the Melbourne Cup and the Hong Kong Vase winner Dunaden. This is his minimum trip nowadays and much will depend if he's fully wound up for this opening salvo of the campaign. Andre Fabre has landed two of the last six runnings of this contest and it will be no surprise if MEANDRE (nb) adds to the tally. The winner of the Group 1 Grand Prix de Paris, he was splendidly progressive last term and far from disgraced when sixth in the Arc. He's just preferred to Fiorente, who's always looked a real four-year-old in the making and is reportedly working well at home. Masked Marvel may find this too sharp, while Quest For Peace and Sadeek's Song remain open to plenty of progression.
