JOSEPH MERCER, a point-to-point winner last year, belied his huge odds when running a blinder behind Jump City at Newton Abbot last time and a reproduction of that effort would give him solid claims this afternoon. Billy Merriott was knocking on the door prior to taking a tumble at Wincanton last time and he merits respect here, along with Monturgeon who had to settle for second best when sent off odds-on favourite here last time.
