The Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up Sale will take place this year alongside racing at Cheltenham on Friday 9th December. Traditionally one Breeze Up date has been scheduled for the Autumn/Winter period with the exception of 2015 when there was also an offering of Breeze up horses at the November Sale.

Director of Horses In Training Sales Richard Pugh said: "This year it is the intention to have one opportunity for NH Breeze Up horses and this will be alongside our December Sale at Cheltenham. The highest price paid for a breeze up horse in 2015 was at our December Sale when Gibbes Bay was sold to Tom Malone for £90,000 from Brown Island Stables and he impressed when winning his only start for Paul Nicholls in a bumper. From a purchasers and vendors perspective this seems to be the most suitable time to offer this type of horse. We will restrict the Breeze Up to a select 25 horses and intend to begin our inspections from September. In 2014 December staged the only Breeze up for NH horses at Cheltenham and produced a competitive environment for this type of horse and we are confident that this will prove similar in 2016. We look forward to working with Cheltenham Racecourse to ensure we showcase these lots to potential purchasers and look forward to announcing our plans for this sale in due course."
