Fourth G1 victory for outstanding peformer Postponed
Postponed, undoubtedly one of the best sons of Dubawi to step onto a racecourse to date, recorded his sixth win on the bounce and his fourth at the highest level on 17 August, running out the impressive winner of the Juddmonte International at York.
Content to let his pacemaker King Bolete do his job during the early stages, Postponed was never far from the pace under Andrea Atzeni and travelled well throughout. Asked for his effort approaching the two-furlong marker, the five-year-old entire soon took up the running and soon seeing off the challenge from Highland Reel, Postponed cruised home to win by a length and a quarter.
Postponed won his first G1 contest last July in the King George, before taking the G2 Prix Foy around six weeks later. Returning at Meydan, under the care of Roger Varian, Postponed dominated in the G2 Dubai City Of Gold Stakes before recording a similarly impressive performance in the G1 Dubai Sheema Classic on Dubai World Cup night. Upon his return to the UK, he then trounced a high-class field in the G1 Coronation Cup on Derby Day. Postponed will now be aimed at the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.
Postponed was bred by St Albans Bloodstock and is out of the winning Dubai Destination mare Ever Rigg, herself a daughter of G1 winner Bianca Nera.
Postponed is one of no fewer than 23 G1 winners for Dubawi. Another is Arabian Queen, the sensational winner of last year’s Juddmonte International. This year, Dubawi has sired 19 individual Black type winners, plus a further 19 horses who have placed at Group or Listed level.
