The two day Sportsman’s Sale catalogue is now online. The success enjoyed by this sale in 2015, which saw a 25% rise in average and 90% clearance rate, has resulted in further support from vendors and an unprecedented demand for places. This year Goffs will offer 479 yearlings over two days, divided into Part 1 on Thursday 29th September and Part 2 on Friday 30th September. The sale immediately follows the two day Orby Sale so creating “Irish Yearling Sales Week” that caters to all levels of the market.
Group winners and graduates of the Sportsman’s Sale such as My Dream Boat (pictured) and Devonshire have been superb examples of the quality and value for money that this sale is able to produce. My Dream Boat, the winner of this year’s Group 1 Prince of Wales’ Stakes at Royal Ascot is now the winner of six races including 4 Stakes races.
We once again welcome some of Ireland’s top consignors to the Sportsman’s Sale this year with drafts offered from Abbeville Stud, Al Eile Stud, Ballybin Stud, Ballyane, Ballylinch Stud, Baroda & Colbinstown Stud, Camas Park Stud, Castletown Stud, Cregg Stud, Glenvale Stud, Grangemore Stud, Grove Stud, Irish National Stud, Kilcarn Stud, Kildaragh Stud, Lodge Park Stud, Lynn Lodge Stud, Mountarmstrong Stud, Newlands House Stud, Oghill House Stud, Owenstown Stud, Rathasker Stud, Rathbarry Stud, Rossenarra Stud, Tally-Ho Stud, The Castlebridge Consignment, Tinnakill House and Yeomanstown Stud among others.
There is an excellent cross section of sires represented at this year’s sale, with some of Europe’s leading sires such as Acclamation, Cape Cross, Dark Angel, Kodiac, Le Havre, Pivotal, Teofilo, etc. combined with some exciting first season and first crop sires in Camelot, Dawn Approach, Dragon Pulse, Bated Breath, Casamento, Foxwedge, Lethal Force, Power, Sir Prancelot, Society Rock, Swiss Spirit, etc. as well as some of the well-established and consistent sires including Azamour, Big Bad Bob, Dandy Man, Equiano, Footstepsinthesand, Fast Company, High Chaparral, Zebedee, Zoffany and many more.
