Owners and breeders are reaping the rewards of the Plus 10 bonus scheme which has paid out a record level of bonus prize money to the connections of winning two-year-olds in 2016.
So far in 2016, £2.25 million in bonuses have been paid out, with almost half a million of this returned to breeders.
Breeders receive bonus payments of up to £2,000/€2,500 each time their horse wins a Plus 10 race. Breeders also receive a benefit in the sales ring, with Plus 10 registered foals sold for median sales prices which were €7,500 higher at Goffs and £6,000 higher at Tattersalls foal sales last year.
Breeders can still get involved in Plus 10 with the deadline for the current foal crop 31 August.
