Ballymacoll mares confirmed for Goffs November Sale
Four Ballymacoll mares have been confirmed for the Goffs November Sale. This is part of the farm’s dispersal that began with the sale of five lots at this year’s Goffs February Sale. That draft was topped by Edith Wharton who was sold to Andy Smith and White Birch for €200,000, and Goffs are delighted to have the privilege of offering four more high calibre Ballymacoll mares which will again be consigned by Jockey Hall Stud this November.
They are as follows:
- Drama Class is by Caerleon out of the Sadler’s Wells mare, Stage Struck. Drama Class is a winner and Listed placed, and has produced Gr.2 winner ELEANORA DUSE and Gr.1 placed SCOTTISH STAGE. Second dam, SUN PRINCESS, is a multiple Gr.1 winner and boasts a strong record of Group winning progeny. Champion 3yo stayers, CONDUIT, and MILLENARY also come from the family. Drama Class is in foal to Acclamation.
- Desert Bloom is by Pilsudski out of the Green Desert mare, Desert Beauty. Desert Bloom is the dam of a winning family, with the most notable being Champion Australian Stayer, and Gr.1 Melbourne Cup and multiple Group winner, FIORENTE. Champion 3yo filly, ISLINGTON also hails from the family. Desert Bloom is in foal to Teofilo.
- Olympienne is by Sadler’s Wells out of the Darshaan mare, Hellenic. Olympienne is an own sister to Champion 3yo filly, ISLINGTON and black type winners NEW MORNING, GREEK DANCE and ELECTION DAY. Olympienne has produced multiple Gr.3 winners PATKAI and MODUN and Gr.2 placed SAPTAPADI. Olympienne is in foal to Alhebayeb.
- Rien Ne Vas Plus is by Oasis Dream out of the Rainbow Quest mare, Sought Out. SOUGHT OUT is a multiple Group winner, including the Gr.1 Prix du Cadran at Longchamp. She is the dam of five winners, including Gr.1 winner NORTH LIGHT, multiple Gr.3 winner COVER UP and Listed winner RESEARCHED. Other black type performers in the family include TANNERY, winner of the Gr.1 EP Taylor Stakes, French Gr.1 winner, GAMUT, now at stud in Ireland, and Gr.2 Italian Oaks winner, FOLEGA. Rien Ne Vas Plus is in foal to Markaz.
Commenting on the Ballymacoll November draft, Goffs Group Chief Executive, Henry Beeby said: “We are delighted to be further involved in the dispersal of the iconic Ballymacoll broodmare band. The first part sold extremely well at Goffs in February, and this quartet offers a further opportunity to share in the legacy of such a successful breeding programme”.
The 2016 Goffs November Breeding Stock Sale recorded some of the best figures seen in recent years and was its strongest ever renewal, with an 89% clearance rate and several new top level international investors who exclusively visited Goffs.
