The Paddy Power Dial-A-Bet Chase at Leopardstown is next on the agenda for Flemenstar after delighting owner Stephen Curran at Punchestown on Sunday.
The 10-year-old has suffered his fair share of injury problems since his brilliant victory in the John Durkan Memorial Punchestown Chase three years ago, but his latest effort in the two-and-a-half-mile Grade One was not devoid of promise.
Flemenstar kept tabs on last season's Gold Cup runner-up Djakadam for a long way before faltering in the straight and Curran believes his charge will come on for the run ahead of a likely clash with Arkle hero Un De Sceaux at Leopardstown on December 27.
Curran said: " He ran well and jumped well, he just needed the race. He wouldn't be as fit as those other boys on Sunday.
"He had a serious injury, but he ran well in Navan a month ago and ran well again in Punchestown, so you couldn't fault him.
"We just take things one day at a time with him, but at the moment he's going the right well all going well he'll go to Leopardstown for the two-mile race."
