Sir Ian Good to succeed Roger Weatherby at the Racing Foundation

The body set up to oversee British racing's share of the proceeds from the sale of the Tote will have a new chairman from the start of the year with Sir Ian Good taking over from Roger Weatherby at the Racing Foundation.

Good is Chairman of Scottish charity the Robertson Trust as well as Hamilton racecourse and Scottish Racing. Leading owner-breeder Kirsten Rausing and Good, who are original trustees from when the foundation was set up in 2012, will be joined by three new trustees - former Racecourse Association chairman Ian Barlow, solicitor and stud owner Jane Keir and racehorse owner and Jockey Club member William Rucker.

Weatherby's term runs out at the end of this year and Good said: "The Racing Foundation has developed greatly since inception and Roger Weatherby has been the driving force. He has been instrumental in setting a clear, strategic vision and ensuring continual development. I would like to thank him most sincerely for his hard work, dedication and enthusiasm." Since its creation the foundation has granted more than £3.8 million and pledged a further £2.48 million to charities associated with the horseracing and breeding industry.
