Gigginstown’s sister to Kicking King among top class Breeding Stock at December NH Sale

Gigginstown House Stud mares have topped the last two renewals of Goffs December National Hunt Sale and next week’s 8-strong draft features some outstanding potential for breeding stock buyers.

The draft is headed by WHISTLE DIXIE (Lot 530 - pictured), a winner and Grade 3 placed sister to Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Kicking King.  By Kayf Tara and in foal to Mount Nelson, Whistle Dixie is also a half-sister to the dam of Kalashnikov who won Outstanding Novice Hurdler of the year at last night's ROA awards and is joint-favourite for the Arkle Chase at the Cheltenham Festival 2019.

Joining Whistle Dixie in the Gigginstown House Stud draft are: 

  • Coquine D’Aunou, 6yo Martaline sister to multiple Listed hurdle placed Quatre Vingt Treize and in-foal to Mount Nelson (Lot 528)
  • Chesapeake, a 6yo Network sister to the Gr 2 hurdle winner and Gr 1 placed Bleu Berry and in-foal to Doyen (Lot 529)
  • Monastery, a winning 6yo Presenting mare out of an own sister to Gr 1 winning filly Voler La Vedette.  She is a half-sister to Listed placed Good Boy Bobby (Lot 531)
  • Dawn In The Park, 6yo hurdle and chase winner by Walk In The Park, she is an own sister to Gr 1 placed Andi’Amu (Lot 532)
  • Cara’s Way, 5yo Robin Des Champs sister to Gr3 placed Movewiththetimes and Venture Capital, from the family of Somersby (Lot 533)
  • Azua Emery, a winning 4yo Califet mare from the family of Gr 2 placed Another Dancer.  Dam has produced four winners from four runners. (Lot 534)
  • Sweetlight D’Oroux 5yo Balko mare who has been placed three times over hurdles (Lot 535)
Among the other breeding stock highlights that will be offered on the second day of the December National Hunt Sale are:  
  • Lady Ruby, 6yo Oscar mare, half-sister to the Gr 1 winning Annacotty (pictured) and in foal to Beat Hollow, consigned by Tinnakill House (Lot 520)
  • Auntie Mary, winning 6yo Scorpion mare, half-sister to four time Gr 1 placed Ordinary World (pictured), consigned by Rockview Stables (Lot 521)
  • Kates The Best, a sister to Gr 2 Scottish Champion Hurdle winner and Gr 1 placed In Contrast, in-foal to Kayf Tara (Lot 538) 
The two-day December National Hunt Sale features 555 lots, comprising 487 foals as well as a selection of quality yearlings, older horses and top class National Hunt breeding stock.  The sale begins at 10am on Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 December.
