Stallion Book Snippets: The son of Danehill, who famously strung together seven consecutive top-flight victories in 2001 and 2002, has compiled a remarkably international stud profile.

His sole Group 1-winning offspring in his native Ireland has been Samitar, while across the Irish Sea in Britain he has been represented by Mount Nelson and Society Rock.

Mount Nelson, Prince Gibraltar and Varenar all scored at the highest level in France, while Prince Gibraltar also did so in Germany. Rock Of Gibraltar’s other elite winners in the northern hemisphere came in the US (Diamondrella and Samitar) and Hong Kong (Eagle Mountain).

Shuttling trips south of the Equator have also resulted in Grade 1-winning progeny in Australia (Rock Kingdom); South Africa (Alboran Sea and Seventh Rock); Chile (Admiral, Brillo De Sol and Cascada Surena) and Brazil (Gibraltar Point and Quarteto De Cordas). The Irish-bred Europa Point also earned Group 1 laurels in South Africa.

Rock Of Gibraltar is standing at Coolmore at a fee of €5,000 in 2021.
