The consistent son of Dark Angel carried the colours of Peter Brant to score in three Grade 1 races – the Hollywood Derby, Shoemaker Mile and Maker’s Mark Mile – and also struck at Grade 2 and Grade 3 level.

Furthermore, he finished placed another six times at the highest level, when runner-up in the Shadwell Turf Mile and Fourstardave Handicap and third in the Manhattan Stakes, Maker’s Mark Mile and the Woodbine Mile (twice).

His trainer Chad Brown hailed Raging Bull as the “best-looking horse I have ever trained” and added: “He has run fast numbers at many different tracks, winning Grade 1s in three different years, the ultimate confirmation of incredible soundness.”

The six-year-old, who earned more than £1.25 million on the track, will stand his first season at stud in Kentucky at a fee of $10,000.
