Bleu Et Rouge too good for Tombstone in Deloitte at Leopardstown

Bleu Et Rouge got the better of Tombstone in the Deloitte Novice Hurdle to give trainer Willie Mullins a quick Grade One double at Leopardstown.

As in the opening GAIN Spring Juvenile Hurdle in which Mullins' outsider of three Footpad was successful, Bleu Et Rouge (11-1) was not the stable's first string.

That privilege went to 4-6 market leader Bellshill, who hit the first flight and tried to make all the running until he faded out of contention in the straight.

That left Bleu Et Rouge and Tombstone to battle it out and the former, ridden by Barry Geraghty, came out on top by three lengths.

Bleu Et Rouge was slashed to 12-1 from 33-1 for the Supreme Novices' Hurdle with Paddy Power.
