Triumph Hurdle winner Peace And Co appears to face a straightforward task as he attempts to get back to winning ways in Saturday's Betfred Racing "Follow Us On Twitter" Contenders Hurdle at Sandown.
Trainer Nicky Henderson has had to go back to the drawing board with the five-year-old after he ran away with Daryl Jacob on his seasonal reappearance at Cheltenham.
He gave himself no chance of lasting home in the International Hurdle and was a spent force at the bottom of the straight, losing his unbeaten record in the process.
"It wasn't that he ran bad first time, he just ran off," Henderson told At The Races.
"No horse could finish a race (like that), it was all over by the top of the hill, no one could do that, not any horse.
"My Tent Or Yours used to pull very hard but he used to get home, too. This horse not only pulled very hard, he actually took poor old Daryl with him, there was no stopping him.
"He went straight from the first hurdle, there was a strong headwind, he grabbed hold of the bit and it was like he just opened his mouth, took a great gulp of air and wanted to dive into the wind and he was gone.
"His head wasn't anywhere near the racecourse, it was out of the window. By the time it came to climbing the hill on the far side, he was still on the same breath which he jumped the first hurdle.
"We didn't have any aids, he's always worn ear plugs but he just had an ordinary bit on so we're going to change that, not surprisingly."
Henderson had planned to run Peace And Co in last month's Champion Hurdle Trial at Haydock, but the Seven Barrows handler was not completely happy with his charge and decided against that, leaving The New One to win the race for the second successive year.
Oliver Sherwood's Rayvin Black finished second that day and he could provide an interesting line on the form as he takes his chance here.
Sherwood feels Rayvin Black is handicapped out of things these days so is picking up some prize money in small-field conditions races instead.
He said: "I can't see him winning a Betfair Hurdle off a mark of 149, so we've got to mix and match and pick up some place money if we can. If we win, happy days.
"It was a very solid run at Haydock and he loves Sandown, as we all know.
"The forecast is pretty poor for Saturday and the more rain the better - it might find a chink in Peace And Co's armour."
The Paul Nicholls-trained Connetable, second to the smart Gibralfaro on his British debut, and Graeme McPherson's Kayf Blanco complete the four-runner field.
