Cheltenham will stage the first ever mares-only jumps card on April 19.

There will be seven races and over £190,000 in prize money up for grabs, with two events worth £40,000, a novices' handicap chase and a four-year-old handicap hurdle.

Simon Claisse, Cheltenham's clerk of the course, said: "I am delighted that Cheltenham is to be the first jump racecourse to stage an all-mares' racecard."

He added: "The running order on the second day of the April Meeting previously had four all-mares races on it and we very much hope that the seven races will be well supported."
