Dan Skelton is ready to let Ch'Tibello head to Wincanton on Saturday for the Betway Kingwell Hurdle.

The seven-year-old was narrowly beaten by Yanworth in the Grade Two contest 12 months ago and made an encouraging start to this season by finishing fourth in the International Hurdle at Cheltenham.

He was last seen pushing The New One all the way when the Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained veteran claimed his fourth victory in the Champion Hurdle Trial at Haydock last month, and Skelton is hoping his charge can enjoy a well-deserved day in the sun this weekend.

He said: "I've got to talk to Ian (Marmion, part-owner), but I think he will run at Wincanton.

"The New One is a hard horse to beat and he is particularly hard to beat at Haydock. There is a furlong-and-a-half run-in and I've got in the front of The New One there with two different horses, Bertimont and Ch'Tibello, and he has a had a furlong and a half to get back in front.

"It was frustrating as I want to be winning those races with him, but his time will come.

"At the end of the day, we haven't won a race this year and the Kingwell looks a winnable contest."
