Jamie Snowden is looking forward to testing the powers of Thebannerkingrebel in the Weatherbys Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival on March 14.

The five-year-old will bid to maintain his unbeaten record in the Grade One contest, for which he is a general 33-1 shot, having posted facile victories at Warwick and Bangor.

Snowden said: "The Champion Bumper is very much on the agenda. He has won both his bumpers and Gavin Sheehan has not had to shake the reins on him."

The handler continued: "He should be better on better ground. We have been lucky enough to have some fantastic horses and he has shown he could be another one.

"He works well at home and is a very straightforward individual and has taken all the preliminaries well in both races so far.

"Dans Le Vant was sixth in the race for us last year and he probably lacked that injection of pace, but this horse certainly has pace on his side."
