Adrien Du Pont proves the perfect Finale for Paul Nicholls

Adrien Du Pont gave Paul Nicholls his first win in the coral.co.uk Future Champions Finale Juvenile Hurdle at Chepstow.

Nicholls' string have emerged from a quiet spell and the youngster was giving him a first Grade One winner of the season as he watched from a sun lounger in Barbados.

Chic Name (22-1) gave it a real go from the front end looking to give trainer Richard Hobson the biggest win of his career, but Nick Scholfield was still sitting fairly quietly approaching the second-last.

A fluent leap at the last saw the 11-8 favourite land in front, but Chic Name stuck gallantly to his task, eventually going down by two and a quarter lengths.

Scholfield said: "That horse wouldn't have liked the conditions and he was too keen, but he's got away with it today.

"I didn't want to let the other horse get away too much and I'm glad I didn't.

"I'd say he's a nice horse for the future. The front two or three all ran in France and I'd say that made a big difference as they are juveniles, it's hard work for them."
