James Reveley yet again proved he has few peers when it comes to riding from the front as Redkalani made all in the Keyhole Visuals Future of Digital Media Handicap Hurdle at Doncaster.

A nine-race maiden previously, he was nevertheless sent off the 5-2 favourite stepping up to three miles for the first time.

In the testing conditions the field were well strung out, but approaching two out Blue Cove looked a threat before fading to be beaten 11 lengths.

"He's always been big and backward and I said to dad (trainer, Keith) last night that we might have to send him over fences before he wins," said Reveley.

"To be honest, I'm surprised how well he won, but I don't think it was much of a race.

"He needed a trip and he likes the mud."

Reveley, who spends more and more time in France these days, described the ground as very testing.

"A lot of the time in France they call the ground very soft when it's not really, that is very hard work out there today," he said.
