Winter could step up in trip for the Qatar Nassau Stakes at Goodwood on August 3.

Aidan O'Brien has given his three-times Group One winner the option of the 10-furlong contest, for which 30 fillies and mares have been entered.

Among those are stablemates Alice Springs, Rhododendron and Seventh Heaven.

Sir Michael Stoute has his eye on the race for Breeders' Cup winner Queen's Trust, second to Minding in the Nassau last year and a little unlucky against the boys in the Prince of Wales's Stakes last week.

Chris Richardson, managing director of Queen's Trust's owners Cheveley Park Stud, said: "We would very much hope that Queen's Trust can go for the Nassau Stakes again this year.

"I haven't spoken to Sir Michael since her run at Royal Ascot last week but we have put her in and the race is very much an option for her.

"She was slowly away at Royal Ascot and got pinned in on the rail. When she did get clear, she ran on well to the line.

"She certainly showed improvement from her first run this season at York and hopefully she can continue to do that throughout the year."

Stoute has also entered South African champion Smart Call and Abingdon.

John Gosden is another trainer with a strong hand in Shutter Speed, Journey and So Mi Dar.

Wuheida and Sobetsu, Group One winners already for Charlie Appleby, Absolute Blast and Sea Of Grace are also in the mix.
