Additional high-class Royal Ascot contenders have been added to an already strong boutique catalogue ahead of the fifth renewal of the Goffs London Sale in association with QIPCO which takes place on the eve of Royal Ascot, Monday 18 June 2018.

Those recently added include Never Back Down (pictured), a three-year-old colt by Kodiac who was a winner on his latest start in the Listed Shalaa Carnarvon Stakes at Newbury in May and is a likely contender for the Commonwealth Cup run over six furlongs at the Royal Meeting.

Main Street would appear to be heading in the right direction following two wins and a second most recently in a Listed race at Goodwood under the watchful eye of trainer John Gosden. The three-year-old colt by Street Cry holds an entry in the Group 2 King Edward VII Stakes.

Finally, smart two-year-old Luchador is the latest London Sale entry and looked the part when winning in impressive fashion at Thirsk last month. Trained by the up and coming Archie Watson, the son of Holy Roman Emperor is an attractive prospect for any potential buyer.

Goffs Group Chief Executive Henry Beeby said:

“As we race towards the fifth renewal of the Goffs London Sale in association with QIPCO, the boutique catalogue is coming together nicely with an interesting mix of both the Horses-In-Training and Breeding Stock categories with 13 confirmed entries and two weeks to go. Entries will be taken throughout this week and next and are by no means restricted to horses entered at Royal Ascot as a number of racing and breeding prospects have proved previously.

We are excited about the new site which although is still within grounds of Kensington Palace, will allow us to create something from scratch and guests can expect an extra special experience to unofficially raise the curtain on the most global race meeting in the world.

We are committed to attracting new investment into the sport and the ability to purchase a horse on the eve of Royal Ascot and see it run in your colours during the most prestigious week in international flat racing has really caught the imagination of buyers from around the world and we are particularly excited about this year’s renewal.”

The list of two-year-old Royal Ascot entries to be offered in London include; Norfolk Stakes contender Vintage Brut, recent winner of the Listed National Stakes at Sandown, the Joseph O’Brien-trained No Needs Never, a promising runner up in a competitive maiden at Cork on his only start, as well as Pocket Dynamo, a recent winner at Longchamp, and Decisive Action who won his maiden first time out at the Curragh earlier this month.  Another interesting prospect is the John Hayden trained Gee Rex who finished fourth behind Fairyland in the Listed Marble Hill Stakes.

Older horses with international appeal include Marathon Man who was a Listed winner at Longchamp on his most recent start in April. Recent winner Mr Reckless will also be offered as will Sharkour, a half-brother to Order Of St George, who finished fourth behind Rostropovich in the Listed Dee Stakes on his latest run.

The select collection of breeding stock are currently headed by Landikusic, the sister to Zoffany and Rostropovich in foal to Frankel, as well as Group 1 winner Miss Beatrix.

The catalogue with pedigrees, photos and video footage will be available online on goffs.com from Tuesday 5th June.
