Quality Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up catalogue now online

The catalogue for the Tattersalls Craven Breeze up, which takes place Monday 16 April – Wednesday 18 April, can be viewed online at www.tattersalls.com and will be available from Tattersalls and Tattersalls Representatives from Friday 9 March. 172 high quality juveniles are catalogued for Europe’s premier sale of two year olds in training which has produced an impressive 41 Group or Listed winners since 2015 including last year’s Group 1 Prix Maurice de Gheest winner BRANDO (pictured).

The catalogue features nine two year olds from the final crop of SCAT DADDY, sire of 2017 Group 1 Royal Ascot winners CARAVAGGIO and LADY AURELIA, and includes the half brother to Japanese Group 1 winner A SHIN FORWARD. Also amongst the highlights are two well-related sons of WAR FRONT; the half brother to Group 1 National Stakes winner PATHFORK and the first foal from MEANDERING, the GALILEO half sister to dual Group 1 winner and sire DUTCH ART.

The catalogue numbers 27 two year olds out of Group or Listed winning mares including the SHAMARDAL colt out of Grade 1 EP Taylor Stakes winner LAHALEEB and the Group 2 Lonsdale Cup winner PALE MIMOSA’s first foal, a filly by EXCEED AND EXCEL. In addition, there are 29 own or half brothers and sisters to Group and Listed winners catalogued. Amongst them are the STREET SENSE half brother to Group 1 winners CERTIFY and CRY AND CATCH ME, the own brother to Group 1 winning two year old DICK WHITTINGTON, as well as, the EXCEED AND EXCEL half sister to Grade 1 and multiple Group 2 winning GORELLA.

An impressive 44 of the sires represented have already produced Classic or Group 1 winners including ACCLAMATION, CAPE CROSS, DANSILI, DARK ANGEL, EXCEED AND EXCEL, INVINCIBLE SPIRIT, KODIAC, LOPE DE VEGA, PIVOTAL, SEA THE STARS, SHAMARDAL, SHOWCASING and SIYOUNI. Leading USA based sires also feature prominently including proven Group 1 sires BERNARDINI, DISTORTED HUMOR, EXCHANGE RATE, GIANT’S CAUSEWAY, KITTEN’S JOY, LEMON DROP KID, MORE THAN READY, SCAT DADDY, SPEIGHTSTOWN, STORMY ATLANTIC, STREET SENSE and WAR FRONT.

First season sires are well represented in the catalogue with no less than 20 sires with their first crop of two year olds featuring. British and Irish based stallions ALHEBAYEB, AUSTRALIA, CHARM SPIRIT, COACH HOUSE, GARSWOOD, GREGORIAN, HEERAAT, KINGMAN, MOOHAAJIM, MORPHEUS, MUKHADRAM, NO NAY NEVER, SLADE POWER, WAR COMMAND and XTENSION are joined by their French and USA based contemporaries ANODIN, NOBLE MISSION, OLYMPIC GLORY, TORONADO and VERRAZANO.

Willie Browne’s Mocklershill has the largest consignment with 20 juveniles catalogued whilst Con Marnane’s Bansha House Stables are also well represented will a total of sixteen. Last year’s sale-topping consignor, Jim McCartan’s Gaybrook Lodge Stud is bringing five two year olds to the sale whilst the largest British based team comes from Malcolm Bastard who has ten juveniles to represent him.

Buyers looking to benefit from a number of enticing incentives will be well catered for with seven lots signed up to the hugely popular £25,000 Tattersalls October Book 1 Bonus, two entered in each of the 300,000 Euro Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Stakes and the £150,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes and 56 which are Plus 10 qualified. In addition there are 9 two year olds qualified for French Owners’ Premiums

The ‘breeze’ for the Craven Breeze Up Sale will take place at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile Racecourse on Monday 16th April starting at 9.30am, and the sale will take place on Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th April, after the conclusion of racing on the first two days of Newmarket’s three day Craven Meeting.
