Weatherbys welcomes Andrew Carter as Commercial Director

Weatherbys this week welcomed Andrew Carter as its Commercial Director.

Andrew was previously the Managing Director of Haygrove, the fruit and horticulture technology business, and the Chief Commercial Officer of Treasury Wine Estates. Prior to that he held a number of senior commercial positions with Bacardi. He has extensive international sales and marketing experience developing a number of high value global brands. Andrew is a keen racing enthusiast and racehorse owner as part of a syndicate. He takes up this new Board role as part of the Group’s non-banking business development strategy.  

Andrew Carter said: “The opportunity to work in one of the world’s iconic horseracing businesses is a lifelong ambition and I am really excited about developing the Weatherbys brand and business.”

Weatherbys has provided the administrative and bloodstock services in support of British racing and breeding for almost 250 years. More recently, the business has also diversified into financial services, pedigree research, publishing, and laboratory services. Total headcount across the Group now exceeds 400.

At Weatherbys, Carter heads a 60-strong Commercial Division, which includes printing, publishing, digital and data services, and reports directly to the Managing Director Graham Ayres.
