Tattersalls Ireland Cheltenham May Sale that takes place on Thursday 31 May at 1.00pm in the Tattersalls Ireland Sales Arena and has attracted a high class initial entry of 36 horses and looks set to be a vintage renewal.

Ground conditions have contributed to highly competitive point to points over the last two weekends and the Cheltenham May Sale has been a major beneficiary securing eight of the eleven four-year-old winners in Ireland alone.

The sire profile is quite exceptional including Fame And Glory (2), Gold Well,
Jeremy (2), Kingsalsa, Milan, Scorpion, Shantou & Walk In The Park.

Initial entries include;

  • 12 winning four-year-old point to pointers.
  • 11 winning five-year-old point to pointers.
  • 4 winning and placed Bumper performers.

Further entries will be selected over the following weeks from the UK and Ireland where there is a bumper entry of four-year-olds this weekend in the Maidens at Necarne, Oldcastle and Dromahane the Tattersalls Ireland Cheltenham May Sale looks likely to go from strength to strength.

The May Sale has been a source of some of the most notable Cheltenham graduates including Gods Own, Road To Riches and Josses Hill and with weather ensuring beautiful racing ground at most venues this year has the potential to unearth some further high class performers.
