Tip Two Win is likely to head to Royal Ascot for the St James’s Palace Stakes following his heroics in the Qipco 2000 Guineas at Newmarket on Saturday.

The son of Dark Angel belied his odds of 50-1 to finish second on merit behind impressive winner Saxon Warrior and give trainer Roger Teal a tremendous result with his first runner in a Classic.

With the Aidan O’Brien-trained Saxon Warrior set to head for the Investec Derby, Tip Two Win would have a good chance of going one better at Group One level.

“He’s great, he’s come out of the race well,” said Teal.

“It looks like Ascot for us next. I think we’ll end up going there for the next run.

“I’ve had a chat with the owner.”
