Median also rose as did the number of six figure sales, with seven foals making over €100,000 compared with two last year.

Stauffenberg Bloodstock secured the top lot today when going to €260,000 for Lot 430 (pictured), a son of Australia out of the Listed winning and Group 2 placed Thai Haku (Lot 912 - Mare Sale).  Consigned by Garranlea Stud, the colt’s two year old half-sister Sarrocchi (Galileo) topped the Goffs Horses In Training Sale last month selling for €215,000 before going on to record an impressive win in a Leopardstown maiden first time out.

Another star foal from Garranlea Stud was a Gleneagles colt (Lot 489) out of the winning mare Convocate (Lot 914 - Mare Sale) who fetched the second highest price of the day when knocked down to Glenvale Stud for €150,000.

Baroda & Colbinstown Studs’ son of Exceed And Excel out of an own sister to the Listed winning and Irish 1000 Guineas runner up Shifting Power (Lot 409) provided another high point on Day 2 when selling to Tally Ho Stud for €135,000.  Other notable sales included a pair of foals that each made €120,000.  First up was Altenback Bloodstock’s Holy Roman Emperor colt (Lot 303) which was bought by Peter O’Callaghan, while Yeomanstown Stud later secured a colt from the popular first crop by Gutaifan (Lot 352) consigned by Ballylinch Stud.
