The cream of the Irish foal crop will be on offer at Goffs November Foal Sale 2018, and the 1093-strong catalogue is now available online. Part 1 will take place from Monday 19th to Wednesday 21st November, with Part 2 taking place on Saturday 24th November following the two day November Breeding Stock Sale.

Galileo was responsible for the two top lots at the Orby Sale, the two highest priced yearling fillies sold anywhere in the world this year, and the November Foal Sale is headed by four of his 2018 crop including a half-sister to Derby winner Harzand and a brother to multiple Group 1 winner Zoustar. They will be joined by a host of beautifully bred foals from some of the best families in the Stud Book with a sire profile that includes Dark Angel, Frankel, Invincible Spirit, Kingman, Kodiac, Lope De Vega, Muhaarar, Nathaniel, No Nay Never, Oasis Dream, Sea The Stars, Siyouni, Teofilo and many more.

Goffs November Sale is a first choice sale for shrewd pinhookers, whose highlights at the top of the 2018 yearling market included a €52,000 November Foal that sold for €700,000 at the Orby, and €60,000 and €82,000 foal purchases that sold for €300,000 and €350,000 respectively, while a 1,000,000gns yearling was originally sourced as a foal at Goffs for €330,000.

On the racecourse, Irish Derby winner Latrobe (pictured) led the Group 1 November Foal graduates that were showcasing the calibre of this sale throughout 2018, with other highlights including La Pelosa who won the Grade 1 Natalma Stakes at Woodbine as well as Glorious Empire, winner of the Grade 1 Sword Dancer Stakes at Saratoga.

On the publication of the 2018 November Foal Sale catalogue, Goffs Group Chief Executive Henry Beeby said:

“Goffs November is simply unmissable for anyone interested in buying a foal, whether they aim to resell or race, and whatever their budget.

This catalogue features many of the best foals to be offered anywhere in the world this year thanks to the enormous support from Irish breeders who consistently choose the Goffs November Foal Sale as their first choice.

This year we are replicating the new format that was such a hit 12 months ago with Part 1 and Part 2 sections sandwiching our two day breeding stock sale, ensuring the best possible trade for each category and the most purchaser-friendly layout of the foals on offer.  To enhance the format still further we have elected for one longer 310-lot day on the Saturday, rather than spreading Part 2 over two days, to give people an additional day without a sale on Sunday 25th November.

To make it even better we have added 96 new stables so that all the Part 1 foals will be available for inspection in ample time prior to going under the hammer, thus removing the old bugbear of “double standings” that added so much extra stress to horse, vendor and purchaser”.
