Arqana October Yearling Sale catalogue is now online

The October Yearling Sale will take place in Deauville from Tuesday 18 to Friday 21 October, and is the third auction this year entirely dedicated to this category. The catalogue is now available online

The catalogue is made up of a selection of 609 yearlings which will be sold during the following sessions:
•    Tuesday, October 18: Part I, sale starts at 11:00am 
•    Wednesday 19 (2:30pm), Thursday 20 (11:00am) and Friday 21 (11:00am): Part II 

An exceptional source of stakes winners
Throughout the years, the October Yearling Sale has confirmed itself as an exceptional source of winners at the highest level. So far in 2016, gratuates of the sale have won 35 Listed or Group races, and since 2013, the winners of 24 Group 1 races have come out of the catalogue.

Of these, €100,000 purchase JEMAYEL from Haras des Capucines took the Prix Saint Alary (Gr.1) this year, while ZELZAL, consigned by Haras du Quesnay, won the Prix Jean Prat (Gr.1) having been sold for €180,000. Also of note are the exploits of AL WATHNA (€72,000), winner of the Prix de Malleret (Gr.2), CAMPROCK (€30,000), winner of the Prix Penelope (Gr.3) and runner-up in the Saint Alary to JEMAYEL, SPRING MASTER (€75.000), victorious in the Prix du Lys (Gr.3), Prix de la Porte Maillot (Gr.3), winner JIMMY TWO TIMES (€85,000), CHEIKELJACK (€15,000 - Prix Djebel Gr.3), BROWNIE (€32,000 - Polar Cup Gr.3) and the two-year-old PEACE ENVOY (€125,000) who finished third in the Prix Morny (Gr.1) having won the Anglesey Stakes (Gr.3).

Strong support for October Yearling Sale Criterium
Of the 609 yearlings set to go under the hammer, 575 are entered in the October Yearling Sale Criterium. 
This new race is for two-year-olds sold at the sale, and is worth a total of €250,000 in prize money. The winner will receive €125,000, an amount equivalent to winning a Group 1, with place money down to eighth. It will take place on September 30, 2017, the day before the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (Gr.1), over a mile.
