The catalogue for the 2018 Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up and Horses in Training Sale can now be viewed online at www.tattersalls.com. Numbering 234 breeze up two year olds and 93 horses in training, the sale takes place May 3rd - 4th, with the two year olds breezing at Newmarket's Rowley Mile Racecourse on Thursday 3rd May starting at 9.00am.

Guineas Breeze Up graduates enjoyed an outstanding year on the racecourse in 2017 headlined by the John Gosden trained Classic performer DABAN (pictured) and already in 2018 4,000 guineas purchase DINOZZO has showcased the value to be found winning the Group 3 Centenary Vase in Hong Kong for trainer John Size.

No less than 53 of the sires with two year olds catalogued have already sired Classic or Group 1 winners, including CAPE CROSS, DARK ANGEL, DUTCH ART, EXCEED AND EXCEL, HELMET, HOLY ROMAN EMPEROR, IFFRAAJ, INVINCIBLE SPIRIT, KODIAC, KYLLACHY, LAWMAN, LE HAVRE, LOPE DE VEGA, MASTERCRAFTSMAN, NEW APPROACH, OASIS DREAM, SHAMARDAL, SHOWCASING, SIYOUNI and SOCIETY ROCK. Top class USA based sires also feature prominently, with proven Group/Grade 1 sires EXCHANGE RATE, GIANT’S CAUSEWAY, KITTEN’S JOY, MALIBU MOON, SPEIGHTSTOWN and UNION RAGS all well represented, as well as a well bred colt from the final crop of the phenomenal SCAT DADDY.

In addition there are 22 first crop sires with two year olds catalogued including Group 1 winners AUSTRALIA, CHARM SPIRIT, GARSWOOD, MAGICIAN, MUKHADRAM, NO NAY NEVER, OLYMPIC GLORY, RULER OF THE WORLD, SLADE POWER, TORONADO, VERRAZANO, WAR COMMAND and XTENSION, as well as BUNGLE INTHEJUNGLE who has already produced two impressive winners.

The Horses in Training section of the Guineas Sale has quickly established itself as a consistent source of high class performers and the 2018 renewal boasts three Group and Listed performers as well as 11 lots with an official rating of 80 or higher. Those that look likely to attract plenty of attention include the 104 rated Marco Botti trained UNABATED, who was third in the Group 3 Sirenia Stakes behind subsequent Group 1 winner THE LAST LION as a two year old and third in the Listed Queensferry Stakes at Chester last year, the progressive David Simcock trained duo NICE SHOT and SILCHESTER and the hugely consistent Ed Dunlop trained five time winner KING KEVIN.

Owners and trainers also have the added incentive of 76 breeze up two year olds eligible for the Plus 10 Bonus Scheme, seventeen eligible for lucrative French Premiums, a further six entered for the £150,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes, two entered for the £25,000 Tattersalls October Book 1 Bonus and 300,000 Euro Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Stakes respectively, and one lot entered for next year’s Swedish Classics.

Commenting on the catalogue, Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony said;

“Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up horses continue to win at the highest level on the global stage and this year’s catalogue has an abundance of quality two year olds in training as well as high class proven horses in training. The combination of breeze up horses with older horses in training has proved to be a popular format and we are confident that we have a catalogue which will appeal to buyers from Britain, Ireland and further afield."

The full breeze will be shown live on Racing UK (Sky Channel 432 and Virgin Media Channel 536) starting at 9.00am on Thursday 3rd May and catalogues are available from Tattersalls and from all Tattersalls overseas representatives.
