The top Lot of the day was the Godolphin consigned UNIVERSAL EFFECT (Lot 82), a three-year-old daughter of UNIVERSAL who is out of two-time winning dam SAABOOG. The filly, who had won and placed since the catalogue had gone to print, was sold to trainer Mark Loughnane for £38,000.

Godolphin, who are consistently the leading consignor at the Tattersalls Ascot Sales, were also responsible for the second highest priced Lot of the day. Lot 77, MILLIONS MEMORIES, a winning three-year-old ZOFFANY gelding was secured by Epsom based trainer Laura Mongan for £35,000.

Lot 106, by leading National Hunt sire FLEMENSFIRTH, AMELIA'S DANCE consigned by Jamie Railton (Agent) was secured by Anthony Bromley of Highflyer Bloodstock for £30,000. The filly, from the family of MISTER MCGOLDRICK, was placed 2nd on debut in a Bumper in May.

At the conclusion of the sale, Matt Prior, Head of Tattersalls Ascot Sales commented;

"Tattersalls Ascot Sales continue to make positive strides in the Horses in Training market, and this has been recognised by both vendors and purchasers alike here today. A clearance rate of 90% demonstrates the solid demand for both Flat and National Hunt horses, with a strong representation of both domestic and overseas buyers.

"We now look forward to the Tattersalls Ascot Yearling Sale which takes place on Tuesday 10 September."
