The son of internationally renowned sire More Than Ready scored in the Belmont Derby on grass and the Travers Stakes on dirt that season, beating Mendelssohn by four lengths in the latter race.

He was also a dual Graded winner at two, in the With Anticipation Stakes and Remsen Stakes, and took the Dixie Stakes at four.

In all, he won seven of his 13 starts and ran second another twice, for total prize-money earnings in excess of $2.1 million.

Catholic Boy retired to Claiborne Stud in Kentucky for 2020, and so his first yearlings will come under the hammer in 2022
