Richard Johnson tasted victory on his first ride back from a short spell on the sidelines when steering Look My Way to glory in the Best Wishes For 2018 Juvenile Hurdle at Ludlow.

The dual champion jockey had been out of action since Boxing Day, after suffering concussion following a tumble from the Kerry Lee-trained Grey Gold.

Despite hanging late on, the John Quinn-trained three-year-old quickened away readily to defeat Nigh Or Never by 10 lengths in the two-mile contest.

Johnson said of the 1-6 winner: "Ideally he would prefer to go left-handed, but the conditions are tough, especially for juveniles. It's very soft.

"He jumped nicely and probably when he got in front on his own he was a bit lonely. He got the job done and it is obviously nice to back with a winner.

"It's good to be back, and it is lovely to have a winner for Mr Quinn. Hopefully here is to a nice new year."
