Kim Bailey to swerve Cheltenham Festival with Vinndication

Trainer Kim Bailey is looking forward to next season with Vinndication after deciding to miss the Cheltenham Festival and the rest of the campaign.

The five-year-old is unbeaten in five starts, most recently running out an impressive winner in the Sidney Banks Memorial Novices' Hurdle at Huntingdon a month ago.

A tilt at the Ballymore Novices' Hurdle next Wednesday, for which he was as short as 10-1, was under serious consideration.

But Bailey has elected to take a cautious approach with his long-term future in mind.

"He hasn't had a setback. He's just a bit weak and immature and I just felt taking him to Cheltenham would be a bit tough on him at this stage of his career," said the Andoversford-based trainer.

"He's a very nice horse and we've decided we'll but him away now until next season.

"I would imagine that he'll more than likely go novice chasing."
