Sir Jack Yeats chasing Foxhunter glory for Richard Spencer at the Festival

Richard Spencer feels Sir Jack Yeats is capable of ruffling a few feathers in the St James' Place Foxhunter Chase on March 16.

The seven-year-old will bid to give the Newmarket handler his first Cheltenham Festival winner when lining up in the three-and-a-quarter-mile amateur event.

Having tasted defeat on his first start for Spencer at Hereford in January, the gelded son of Yeats has since landed victories at Market Rasen and Kelso.

He said: "Touch wood we are on schedule and as long as he gets there in one piece, I think he will run a big race.

"On his first run he finished third and we were a bit disappointed with that, but he has won his last two so fingers crossed, hopefully he will run well again.

"James King has won on him the last two times and he will ride him again at Cheltenham.

"He is versatile regarding the ground so it wouldn't matter if it is a road or a bog there."
