Godolphin's Zeelander topped today's Tattersalls Ascot Sale that concluded with an increased aggregate of £434,650, a comparative median of £2,000 and an average of £3,908. The clearance rate was an improved 77% on last year's 67%.

Godolphin's Zeelander, a four-year-old son of Dubawi and an own brother to Gr.3 and six-time winner DANADANA topped the Tattersalls Ascot November Sale when knocked down to agent Federico Barberini for £52,000 (Lot 101).

Placed twice at two and with an official rating of 75, Nostrovia (Lot 103), consigned by Sefton Lodge Stables will return to the care of her trainer. Richard Spencer was reluctant to let go of the promising filly and  was knocked down to Spencer and Phil Cunningham of Rebel Racing for £22,000.

Godolphin, consistently leading vendors at this venue, were responsible to the next top lot in Sunshine Coat (Lot 98), an unraced three-year-old colt by Kyllachy and from the heavy black-type family of SUNSHACK, RAINTRAP and METEOR STORM was knocked down to trainer Jamie Osborne for £20,000.

At the conclusion of the sale, Director of Horses in Training Sales Richard Pugh commented;

"A diverse selection of customers were present here at the Tattersalls Ascot Sales Ring mostly competing for form horses and this was evident from the healthy and increased clearance rate of 78%. Today's catalogue offered predominantly form horses and looking towards Ascot December Sale, we are confident that we will be offering a larger variety of horses, both form and point to pointers with the season now in full swing, available for auction on Monday 10 December."
