Going key to Marvel return

Thu, 03 May 2012

Masked Marvel will only run in the Qatar Bloodstock Jockey Club Stakes on Saturday if the Newmarket ground is suitable.

Last year's St Leger hero features in a field of eight for the Group Two, but trainer John Gosden has issue the going proviso.

Mikel Delzangles' Melbourne Cup winner Dunaden has also been declared and there is a second formidable French-trained contender in the shape of Andre Fabre's Meandre, winner of the Grand Prix de Paris last summer.

The Sir Michael Stoute-trained Fiorente, last seen finishing second in the Gordon Stakes at Glorious Goodwood, returns to the fray and a quality field is completed by Luca Cumani's progressive Quest For Peace, Roger Charlton's Al Kazeem, Godolphin's Sadeek's Song and David O'Meara's Blue Bajan.
