Jamie Spencer and Graham Gibbons were banned for four and five days respectively following incidents during the Betfred Mile at Glorious Goodwood.

The big handicap was won by Fulbright, but there was drama going on behind and Gibbons was found by the stewards to have struck Spencer with his whip after finishing seventh on Swiftly Done. Spencer was 11th on Field Of Dream.

The stewards looked into possible interference inside the two-furlong marker and found Spencer's mount had interfered with Swiftly Done, who then interfered with Captain Bertie.

Spencer was found guilty of careless riding in that he manoeuvred to his left, creating a gap. He was suspended for August 17-20 inclusive.

The stewards also inquired into possible interference on the run to the line and having heard evidence and viewed video recordings, ruled Swiftly Done had interfered with Field Of Dream, and that Gibbons had intentionally struck Spencer with his whip.

As a result, Gibbons was suspended on August 17-21 inclusive for improper riding.
