The Jockey Club Information Systems Inc. (TJCIS) recently unveiled the Equineline Sales Catalog app for the iPad, the company’s first product customised for Apple’s popular tablet. Weatherbys have been closely involved with the development and will make available the catalogues it researches for the majority of European sales.

To learn more about the Sales Catalog app, and to download it free from the App Store on iPad, follow this link: http://www.equineline.com/salescatalogapp. The app enables customers to download sales catalog books to iPads and also create a single book for multi-volume sales.

Within the downloaded books, buyers can create short lists and view mini catalogs, record conformation notes and veterinary information in custom formats and hand write annotations with easy-to-use touch selections. They can also assign ratings, highlight catalog pages with color selections, add moveable sticky notes and directly email pages with annotations and comments.

“This app expands the services we provide the auction sales market by leveraging our sales cataloging experience and technological abilities,” said Carl Hamilton, Chairman and President of The Jockey Club Information Services, Inc. “The Equineline Sales Catalog app presents the sales catalog in a format that can be easily navigated, searched, sorted and marked up simply by touching the iPad screen.”

The app will make available catalogs for all major North American Thoroughbred auction sales, including those held by Keeneland Association, Fasig-Tipton, Ocala Breeders’ Sales, Barretts and Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society.

Dan Rosenberg, owner of Rosenberg Thoroughbred Consulting, was among a group of auction buyers who beta-tested the app. According to Rosenberg, “This app will be a great service to anyone in the business of evaluating and buying Thoroughbreds.”

In addition to North American Thoroughbred auctions, through TJCIS’ ongoing and close partnership with Weatherbys, catalogs for a number of major European sales will be available.

Weatherbys Commercial Director, Nick Craven, added, “Weatherbys is excited to partner with TJCIS to make European Sales Catalogues available on the Equineline Sales Catalog app. Weatherbys researches the pedigrees for nearly all the major European sales companies and having major European sales available on the same app as North American sales provides a comprehensive service to an international marketplace. The iPad app will revolutionize the way sales pages are viewed and will be a huge benefit to many people in the bloodstock world.”

The Jockey Club Information Systems Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Jockey Club, is an industry leader in the areas of technology and information services for industry professionals, including owners, breeders, trainers and farm personnel. TJCIS utilizes state-of-the-art technology to enhance the services it provides through equineline.com as well as its cataloguing and software sales and consulting divisions. It develops applications for a host of operating systems including Windows, Apple and Android services.  TJCIS and Weatherbys already work together through various initiatives that European Breeders will be aware of. These include Weatherbys Bloodstock Reports website and more recently the My Stable tracking service.
