Race Verdict

Triangular won with plenty in hand over 2m7f at Newbury last month and there could be a good deal more to come from him despite a 13lb rise in the weights. The drop in trip should pose no problem and he looks sure to go well if taking to the big fences. Always Waining bids for a hat-trick of wins in this race and he must be respected despite being 5lb higher than last year. Frankie Figg likes it round here and he is feasibly handicapped if bouncing back to his best so he merits respect but the verdict goes to LITTLE JOSH. He is 1lb lower than when winning the Paddy Power Gold Cup last season and looks just the type to take to this test with his bold front-running style.

Selection: Little Josh        Danger: Triangular        Alternative: Frankie Figg
