Race Verdict

Van Ellis cost 140,000gns as a yearling and will be expected to run a big race on his racecourse debut, while Journalistic twice struck the crossbar over 1m last term and is likely to give another good account dropping in trip. The vote, however, goes to Godolphin's CURZON LINE. Frankie Dettori's only mount on the card displayed a fair amount of ability in four starts last year and a repeat of his second at Lingfield in October (only previous start at this distance) would make him hard to beat.

Selection: Curzon Line        Danger: Van Ellis        Alternative: Journalistic
