Has won 11 races from 5f to 1m 3f on good ground and on the all-weather. A winner at 14-1 at Southwell over 1m 3f on his latest outing in December last year, beating The Lock Master by 1 3/4l.

Race Verdict

ON THE CUSP would appear to save his best form for the all-weather surface but there is enough in the form book to suggest he is up to this on soft ground and, having racked up a quick-fire double over this trip at Southwell in December last year, he should go close and looks a fair price at the forecast. Elsewhere, Salient has threatened a win and makes the shortlist, while Xpres Maite boasts winning distance form and gets in under a low weight.

Selection: On The Cusp        Danger: Salient        Alternative: Xpres Maite
