Race Verdict

The hugely consistent FINIAN'S RAINBOW sets the standard on official figures and can supplement his Queen Mother Champion Chase gains, with the step up to 2m4f expected to suit. The 2010 victor Albertas Run, a dual winner of the Ryanair Chase, had to settle for second behind Master Minded in this event last term but he defied a layoff to push Riverside Theatre close at last month's Cheltenham Festival and he is sure to lay down another strong challenge. Wishfull Thinking crashed out in dramatic fashion in the Champion Chase but he got to within a length of the selection at Kempton in December and it's worth noting that arguably his best career performance came when routing Medermit over C&D at this meeting last year. Poquelin holds solid place claims.

Selection: Finian's Rainbow        Danger: Albertas Run        Alternative: Wishfull Thinking
