Race Verdict

Talwar commands plenty of respect due to the framing of the weights as he boasts the highest official rating in the line-up and landed Group 3 honours at Sandown last season, albeit over 7f. However, his season ended on a low note when he brought up the field in the Racing Post Trophy and connections will be hoping a subsequent break and this drop in grade can spark a return to form. Masterel has winning form at Listed level in Italy and is respected on his first start for Marco Botti but PRINCE ALZAIN had far too many guns for the highly regarded Harvard N Yale at Wolverhampton on Boxing Day and with his liking for this surface already proven, this son of Street Sense ticks plenty of boxes as he bids to take another step up the ladder.

Selection: Prince Alzain        Danger: Talwar        Alternative: Masterel
