Race Verdict

Zumbi is sure to prove popular having only been sighted twice as a juvenile, making a winning Ascot debut in May before finishing a highly credible third in a competitive renewal of the Acomb Stakes at York's Ebor meeting. He is a colt open to considerable improvement and should do well this season, with similar comments applying to Redact, who rounded of last year's campaign with a fine second to Caspar Netscher in the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury. The 7f trip should suit him down to the ground, while Bannock is considered despite fluffing his lines in the Cammidge Trophy last month. However, given the stable's strong record in this race over the years, a chance is taken on WEST LEAKE DIMAN, for whom connections were quick to book the services of Frankie Dettori. The colt's two-year-old form certainly isn't out of place in a race of this nature and he is expected to improve this term.

Selection: West Leake Diman        Danger: Zumbi        Alternative: Redact
