Race Verdict

CABAL caught a tartar last time at Musselburgh but connections will be buoyed by that performance - her best run on turf to date - and she looks capable of defying a 1lb rise in the ratings now stepping up slightly in trip. The main danger appears to be Maven, who was outpaced over 1m at Pontefract last week and shapes as if this stiffer test will be ideal. Smart Step could ideally do with some rain before being seriously considered and of more interest is Climaxfortackle, another for whom this longer trip looks ideal.

Selection: Cabal        Danger: Maven        Alternative: Climaxfortackle
